Slam Poetry

Slam poetry, a form of performance poetry combines the elements of performance, writing, competition and audience performance. It is performed at events called poetry slams, or simply slams. The name Slam is derived in a way how audience has the power to praise, or to sometimes destroy a poem from the high-energy performance style of a poet.
General Instructions
  • All the Participants should carry their college ID Card/Govt. ID proof.
  • Registration must be done before the commencement of the event.
  • Participant must bring their passport size photograph.
  • Any suspicious doing can lead direct disqualification.
Specific Rules
  • Time limited allotted is 5 minutes
  • Judges decision would be considered as final
Event Rules
  • Poems must be original
  • Poems must revolve around the theme
  • No profanity
Round I
  • Top 40 percent of the total participant would go for Round 2
Round II
  • Decision by the jury of the event will decide the winners of the event
