Description of The Event
In this event, Participants will show their talent in the form of Dancing. There is no specific theme for any performance and no restrictions for choosing track. There will be 2 rounds.
Rules
General Instructions
All the Participants should carry their college ID Card/Govt. ID proof.
Registration must be done before the commencement of the event.
Participant must bring their passport size photograph.
Any suspicious doing can lead direct disqualification.
Specific Rules
There will be 2 rounds in Dance and each round will be elimination round.
All dancers should be costume ready and warmed up one hour prior to their scheduled performance.
Only small clothing or “accessory” props (e.g. a cane) are allowed to be used.
Participants are advised to submit their track before 2 days of event to the student coordinators mail-IDs.
No offensive song will be used for performance.
FOR EMERGENCY it is advisable to have a duplicate PD or Flash Drive available.
Solo Dance
Duration of performance 2 to 3 minutes. Exceeding the time may lead to deduction in marks.
The contestant should be dressed appropriately during the performance. Indecent exposure is NOT allowed.
The Participants are requested to bring two PDs to avoid technical disturbance.
Any obscene/ offensive music/ song is not allowed.
The Participant may submit only one song with registration. The category for the song has to be selected during the registration.
Judgment is based on the basis of rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, make-up, sets on the overall effect.
Duet Dance
This is not a COUPLE DANCE.
Time limit is 2-4 minutes. Negative points for exceeding the time limit.
Get your own props that must be informed to the coordinators prior the competition.
The Participants will be judged on their costumes, compatibility, visual presentation and dance form.
Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
Group Dance
Group Participants should be minimum of 2 & maximum of 6 participants.
Duration of performance: 3 to 5 minutes, exceeding the time may lead to a deduction in marks.
The participants in group dance should be registered individually.
Judgment is based on the basis of rhythm, formation, expression, costumes, make-up, sets on the overall effect.
Judging Criteria
ROUND 1
Entries will be on a first come, first serve basis and will be limited to the amount of performance time available.
The song on which the dance (Solo/Duet/Group) will be performed can be of any language.
Performance must have any Story/Theme to represent.
Judgments will be based on the qualities like choreography, tal, Technique, rhythm, abhinaya or expression, footwork and overall presentation.
ROUND 2
No. of entries after elimination from 1st round will be 40% to 60% (depending upon no. of entries)
Performance must have any Story/Theme to represent.
The song on which the dance (Solo/Duet/Group) will be performed can be of any language.
If there will be condition arise of tie then a Battle round will happen. A random song will be asked by judges to dance for final judgment.
